Berkshire Health Systems is actively seeking a fellowship-trained, BC/BE Trauma/Critical Care/ACS Surgeon as a third physician in a group. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years’ experience in Trauma/Critical Care/ACS. Trauma Directorship is a possibility for the right individual.
This is a unique opportunity to join an outstanding medical faculty at a long-established teaching hospital in a unique New England setting. There are ACGME residencies in Medicine, Surgery and Psychiatry. The Medical Center also hosts medical students and PA students from regional schools. Faculty appointments are available from our affiliated medical schools. Clinical research involvement with our residents is encouraged and expected.
Serving a diverse population in Western Massachusetts, Berkshire Medical Center, is a 302-bed community teaching hospital and a major teaching affiliate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine and University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Berkshire Medical Center is both ACS-COT verified and a Massachusetts designated Level III trauma center with a 2016 patient volume of 1257 trauma patients. The ED sees over 60,000 patients annually. The Trauma Service provides neurosurgical and orthopedic specialty coverage, as well a wide range of other surgical and medical specialties. The Trauma Service is also supported by APPs on the floor and in critical care units. There is a 20 bed combined medical – surgical ICU, advanced imaging technology, 24/7 interventional radiology, a system-wide EMR. BHS is the region's leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services, and include a Satellite Emergency Facility and a Critical Access Hospital both of which are part of the trauma system and transfer trauma patients to Berkshire Medical Center.
