Division Chief, Critical Care MedicineThe Department of Anesthesiology at The Ohio State University is seeking a Division Chief for Critical Care Medicine. This nationally recognized and dedicated leader will represent the Department of Anesthesiology throughout the Department and the Medical Center for issues regarding Critical Care Medicine. The Chief will develop and maintain staffing modules to meet the needs of our clinical, teaching and research missions. The medical center is experiencing growth of ambulatory and inpatient services, creating excellent opportunities to build upon and expand our multidisciplinary critical care medicine programs. Our strategic plan includes $4 billion in facilities expansion and programmatic development over the next few years.
Responsibilities of this committed leader include:•Leading an academic division•Direct day-to-day clinical operations of critical care medicine•Develop and expand academic, clinical and basic research activities devoted to critical care medicine•Mentoring and developing faculty throughout the division•Recruiting and retaining top talent to the program•Work closely with the Program Director of the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship to assure excellence of training and full compliance with ACGME guidelines•Conducts lectures, seminars and related educational offerings, both within the Medical Center and at the regional and national level•Work closely with institutional development to enhance the philanthropic endeavors of the Division
Successful Candidate Qualifications:•MD, MD/PhD or equivalent•Fellowship trained in Critical Care Medicine•Current board certification in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine•Licensed/license eligible to practice medicine in the state of Ohio•A minimum of 5-7 years of faculty experience in academic healthcare•Extensive experience building a successful clinical practice•Demonstrated leadership skills in building innovative programs, as well as developing faculty•Wide-ranging teaching experience and robust research background•Qualify for academic appointment at an advanced rank•An active research program in basic, translational, clinical or health services research is strongly desired
