The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center is looking for a Critical Care Medicine Physician to join the Critical Care Medicine Department to serve as the Associate Program Director and contribute to the management of the ACGME approved critical care fellowship program that attracts high-achieving physicians from leading academic centers nationally.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center, invites candidates with strong clinical and investigative skills to apply for the position of Staff Clinician I in the ACGME training program at the NIH, Clinical Center, Critical Care Medicine Department, in Bethesda, MD.
The NIH is the nation's foremost federally funded biomedical research institution. The NIH, Clinical Center is the 200-bed hospital in which NIH intramural research protocols are conducted. The position will be within the Critical Care Medicine Department, of the Clinical Center, National Institute of Health (NIH). The Critical Care Medicine Department manages the medical-surgical intensive care unit that provides care for patients undergoing cutting edge research at the nation’s premier research hospital. The patient population is populated with hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients, and patients with cancer, adult immunodeficiency syndromes and HIV infection, as well as complex post-operative patients.
The department has a robust ACGME training program and a world-renowned research program that includes basic and translational research as well as a program in innovative approaches to critical care training that networks with regional and national partners.
Candidates must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and be Board Eligible or Certified in Internal Medicine.
This is a Title 42 federal appointment in the excepted service. This appointment offers federal benefits. A full benefits package includes retirement, health, life and long-term care insurance, Thrift Savings Plan participation, etc. This position is subject to a background investigation.
