The Neurological Testing and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital is a Level IV national referral center located in downtown Chicago. We are offering comprehensive outpatient diagnostic testing, Critical Care EEG monitoring as well as diagnostic and pre-surgical video EEG in a dedicated Epilepsy Monitoring Unit which includes invasive evaluations using subdural and Stereo EEG electrodes.
The technology team consists of staff with experience in long-term monitoring and study review. The institution is highly supportive to enhance professional skills and leadership, and to advance technologists into roles, which include administrative and teaching responsibilities or excellence in multiple modalities.
Our technologists work closely with the neurophysiology physicians. A wide variety of educational opportunities are offered including weekly teaching and video EEG rounds and multidisciplinary surgical conferences. The physician group includes several well recognized neurophysiologists in the areas of ICU EEG, Epilepsy and intra-operative monitoring.
Required Education/Experience and License/Certification:
High School diploma or equivalent
Familiarity with personal computers
Certified in basic cardiac life support (BCLS)
Registry in at least one discipline (EEG, EMG) corresponding with the clinical area of work for the institution. Registration to be through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential technologists (ABRET) for EEG; through the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) for EMG.
In lieu of registry, candidate may be considered who are board registry eligible, and complete registration within one year of hire date.
In addition to EEG or EMG, registration in one or more of the following disciplines: EEG, EP, CLTM, CNIM, or Sleep Studies. Registration through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential technologists (ABRET) for EP, CLTM, CNIM; through the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) or Board of Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) for Sleep Studies.
Prior experience in multiple ENDT modalities.
