Working primarily in our Center for Cancer Care, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide services within our Pain and Palliative Care Program. You will be responsible for developing the program in collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary team. As an expert in this area of practice, the ideal candidate will act as a resource person, consultant, educator and facilitator for the entire Health Care Team. The NP will also provide clinical, educational and emotional support as appropriate to patients of all ages and their families dealing with acute and chronic diseases, pain management, or with others who would benefit from palliative care interventions.
Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
Current NYS certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Adult/Geriatric or Family).
Minimum two years’ experience in an acute care setting and at least one year of Palliative Care experience are required.
In addition to the above, experience in Critical Care is preferred.
Excellent communication and leadership skills required.
